Versatile Blogger Award

versatile_blogger_awardI’ve been nominated for my first (non-Liebster) award from, once again, the magnanimous John Heatz. I know you are waiting with bated breath to see the details of my acceptance post, so let’s get to it.

Here are the rules that (lovingly) I copied and pasted from Mr. John Heatz blog:

  • Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
  •  Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
  •  Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. ( I would add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)
  •  Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link to this site.
  •  Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

All right let’s start out with seven facts about myself.

1.)  I can’t stop listening to Thelonious Monk.

2.)  I’ve been to Costa Rica a few times. All the Costa Rican video game stores I went to only sold pirated games. I saw some absolutely hilarious knock-offs there.

3.)  I used to be able to speak Spanish. Not really anymore.

4.)  Reggie Miller is the best. (Yes, that is a fact about me.)

5.)  I think you should watch Wild Strawberries, if you haven’t already.

6.)  I think you should play Digital: A Love Story, if you haven’t already.

7.)  I’m addicted to sparkling mineral water.

All right, here are my nominations (in no order):

1.) 1001-Up

2.) Drakulus

3.) PhoenixDown

4.) United We Game

5.) The Verbal Spew Review

6.) Video Games Nebula

7.) Pixel Bubble

8.) A Nappy Nerd Girl

9.) Geek Force Network

10.) The Chindividual

11.) The Dad, Gentleman Geek

12.) Murf vs Internet

13.) My Brain On Games

14.) Pixel Hearts

15.) The Pew Pew Diaries

There are so many great blogs out there so it was hard to narrow down my nominations to just fifteen.

Thanks again to John Heatz for the nomination!

  • Oh gosh…that “Mr.” before my name made me feel old! Aaaand…..sadly you’re right about the stores…there are a few that have retail games though…hard to find, but they are around!

    • gamebloggirl

Haha, sorry about that! Yeah, I was in a small town so they were nowhere to be found. Are you Costa Rican, by the way (if you don’t mind me asking)?

      • Yeah, I’m Costa Rican! And pffft! The whole country is a “small town” 😛

        • gamebloggirl

What!? You’re Costa Rican and you never told me? =o I love Costa Rica. I suppose most Americans do though.

          • hahaha I’m pretty sure it is somewhere…like Twitter or something 😛

          • gamebloggirl

It totally says Costa Rica on your twitter. Haha, that’s hilarious that I never noticed.

          • hahahahaha! well yeah it is there 😛 just that nobody notices those little details

    • Red Lion

Hey, if you don’t mind my asking, where might some of those locations be? I’ll be moving to Costa Rica myself in about a year and don’t want to modify my Xbox, so I’d really appreciate the tip. 🙂

      • If you’re moving to the capital city, there are quite a bit, the one I’d suggest would be “Hobbie Shop” or there are quite a few stores in malls as well

        • Red Lion

What a cute name for a Costa Rican store. =] I actually will be moving to San Jose after spending a little time in San Carlos, so thank you for the suggestion!

          • gamebloggirl

Are you too good for San Carlos now, Ms. Leon? THEY HAVE A FLOSANCO AND EVERYTHING. :p

          • Red Lion

Haha, naw man! I just can’t be tied down by my roots. I’m actually gonna score a sweet gig in San Jose 😮 I just wish I knew some people there. But I’ll still be shoppin’ Flosanco when I go visit my grandma.

  • Congratulations and thank you! Very kind.

    • gamebloggirl

      Thanks! 🙂

  • Thanks for the nod!

Do you happen to have a blogroll or list with your nominations also on it? I’ll go a-googling for them, but I want to make sure I visit all of the one’s you’ve listed here.

    • gamebloggirl

Of course! I just updated the post to include links. =]

  • Thanks and Congratulations! You most definitely earned it.

Thanks so much, you’re very kind! Some great blogs on your list for me to check out too, one of the reasons I love the awards. Thanks again and congrats. 🙂

    • gamebloggirl

Oh, thanks! 🙂 (You’ve got a great blog so it’s not actually kind of me to nominate you. :p)
