Most fashion collabs get you a capsule drop, a lookbook, and a couple of influencer posts. GREY GRADIENT went a different way for Series 002. They partnered with indie studio OTR HVN and made a horror game.

That game is The Consumed, and it hits Steam on October 23, 2026.

A Fashion Brand That Wanted to Talk About Consumerism

GREY GRADIENT’s idea for Series 002 is a fashion brand poking fun at how religious corporate culture has gotten. It’s a funny thing for a clothing label to take on, and that’s kind of the point. The Consumed treats the mall like a cathedral. The storefronts are chapels, the mannequins are saints, and spending money is the ritual everyone shows up for.

Then the game empties the mall out. The brands are still on the signs and the mannequins are still on display, but the shoppers are gone, and you’re the person working the night shift.

Where the Clothes Come In

This isn’t just a logo on a loading screen. GREY GRADIENT runs a store inside the game, upstairs in the Hargrove Galleria. You pay with spirit coins, which you earn by banishing what’s haunting the mall with your camcorder. The clothes do something too: each piece you buy adds a permanent extra health bar for the rest of your run.

So in a game about how consumerism swallows people whole, buying a nice shirt is what keeps you alive. I think that’s a great joke, and the game knows it’s in on it.

Who Made It

OTR HVN is the studio behind Iron Abyss, which I covered a lot this summer. The Consumed is a different kind of game: first-person, real-time, with a VHS-meets-PSX look in place of Iron Abyss’s amber wireframes. The team:

  • Game Designer / Director: Jackie C
  • Art Directors: Jordan Daniels and Jackie C
  • Written and voiced by: Samuel Knox
