Happy Halloween from the team behind The Consumed!
If your Halloween plans involve turning down the lights and finding something unsettling to play, we’d love to invite you to Hargrove Galleria. A Halloween Night Shift at the Mall
You’re the new night-shift security guard at a dying mall. You’ve got a flashlight, a camcorder, and stores to secure. Over five increasingly difficult shifts, finishing the job becomes a matter of survival.
The Consumed brings together first-person analog horror, survival horror, and VHS-meets-PSX visuals. If empty corridors, suspicious mannequins, and the feeling that something is watching are your kind of Halloween, clock in with us.
Want to get a feel for the atmosphere first? There’s a free demo on the Steam page, too. Check the store for your regional price and the offer’s exact end time.
Meet Jordan Daniels, Art Director on The Consumed
Jordan Daniels served as an art director on The Consumed, alongside Jackie Knox. Jordan brings over 12 years of graphic design experience and has launched multiple fashion brands.
That background is a fitting part of a project where fashion, retail, and horror meet. The Consumed is an OTR HVN game made in collaboration with GREY GRADIENT, with a shopping mall at the center of its world. Introducing the people behind it matters to us: behind the game artwork and the store page are individual creatives bringing years of experience to a small-team production.
Sam and Jackie Knox: From IRON ABYSS to The Consumed
The Consumed is directed by Sam and Jackie Knox, the husband-and-wife duo behind the hand-drawn game IRON ABYSS.
If you discovered our work through IRON ABYSS, thank you for following us into a very different kind of nightmare. If The Consumed is your first introduction, welcome—we’re glad you’re here. You can also read about IRON ABYSS here.
Jackie also built The Consumed’s custom game engine and shares its art direction credit with Jordan. Together, these credits offer a glimpse of the people behind the mall, from its visual identity to the technology running your night shift.
A Small Way to Support Independent Horror
Buying the game is one way to support our team, but we appreciate the other ways people help, too. Sharing the Steam page with a horror-loving friend, trying the demo, or leaving an honest review after playing all mean a lot to us.
For Chinese-speaking players, we’ve also introduced the localized name 《扒皮商场》 and added Simplified Chinese store artwork. You may still see The Consumed as the Steam title while the name update is being arranged. Here’s the story behind the Chinese name.
Thank you for helping our little corner of indie horror reach more players. Whether you’re joining us for the full game or just stopping by to try the demo, have a wonderfully unsettling Halloween.
The mall needs a night guard. We hope you survive the shift.
